How Electroencephalogram (EEG) Used For Brain Function

Electroencephalogram (EEG) is the study of how the brain functions. This includes the study of brainwaves and the activities of the brain. One of the methods used to monitor these brainwaves is via Electroencephalography or EEG. EEG is a way in which the brain’s activities can be monitored.

EEG Electroencephalogram procedure

Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a procedure which has been developed in the late 1960s. A person’s brain produces signals which are in the form of wave forms. These wave forms are then converted into sound by the brain. The method works by using radio frequency pulses which are sent to the brain through electrodes. The impulses are then picked up by the sensor, which is located near the scalp.

The signals which are picked up by this sensor are then decoded by the brain. This process is done so that the brain can understand the meaning behind the sounds. By doing this it is then possible to track brain activity and monitor brain function.

Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technology Monitoring Methods

Using electroencephalogram technology, it is now possible for therapists to monitor and understand the functions of their client’s brain. This has made this method very useful for therapists to treat conditions such as ADD/ADHD, epilepsy, and stress-related disorders. Electroencephalogram technology is also widely used in many other fields such as sports medicine. The patient can often be kept awake at night whilst the doctor examines their brain using this method. This helps the doctor to find the cause of the sleep problem which is then used to help treat the condition.

This is a non invasive procedure that does not require any equipment. This means that it is perfect for those people who cannot afford to have invasive surgery. It is also easy to use. All that needs to be done is to place the subject in a particular position using a device. The patient will then be placed into a complete state of relaxation. From here the doctor will then read what is known as an ERG or Electroencephalograph.

The screen will show various traces of electrical activities that are shown on the screen as different colors. The size of each color is relative to the distance between electrodes which are placed on the scalp. The information from the electrodes is shown on the monitor and a graph is generated showing the levels of activity that are being generated in the brain. These levels are measured in decibels.

Principle Of Brain Wave

Electroencephalogram (EEG) is based on the principle of brain wave entrainment. Brain wave entrainment has been used for many years to successfully control brain function. This EEG technique involves receiving sound or images via a CD player or head set and then listening to these sounds or images. The brain responds to the images and the changes it sees in the visual cortex. The brain then processes the information and produces new brain wave patterns. These new patterns can then be used to effectively change and alter one’s behavior.

The science behind this is actually quite complicated and the reason why there are so many forms of therapy out there is because the science itself is not simple. There are different theories out there with varying results. What they all have in common though is that this method is safe. That is, there are no harmful side effects that can result in harming the brain in any way. It is even possible to teach your brain to change its own patterns if you know how. This is a very interesting and promising area of science that is likely to continue to grow for years to come. Also Read “fNIRS Brain Functionality
